The head of the company Mr. Hanspeter Spek said that lots more clinical testing would be carried out between 2008 until 2010 which they hoped would show the Food and Drug Administration that the drug is perfectly safe.

While the Food and Drug Administration ruled that the Acomplia weight loss drug should not be given an approval for sale and marketing in America they did nevertheless say that they were ready to look at the clinical data again when more testing had been done.
