Differentiated Instruction is the formal term for what many teachers have been doing all along. Teachers must reach students of various academic needs, interests, and abilities. Assessment
Teachers assess students in many different ways – pretests and post tests, informal methods (observations), formal assessments (state, district, and school tests), and interest surveys. Based on the outcomes of these assessments, teachers are able to create lessons and learning experiences based on the students' readiness, interest, and learning profile.
