As anyone who uses their mp3 audio player to play many podcast or audiobooks knows that the sheer size of the audio tracks can cause a problem.
The audio files are commonly 30 minutes to more than an hour long, so they take up a lot of storage space. What's more, some players won't place a bookmark in an audiobook if life interrupts and the audio file needs to be stopped. Those that do are often more expensive options such as the iPod or Zune.
This means a lot of sore thumbs and short tempers as the owner of one of these devices has to hold down the fast forward button to find where the story left off.
